North Side Bait and Tackle, 2624 Sherman Blvd., Fort Wayne, is bulldozed May 29 to make way for improvement to the intersection.

Demolition began May 29 on North Side Bait and Tackle, 2624 Sherman Blvd., Fort Wayne.

North Side was in the way of a roundabout going into Five Points, the area where Lillian Avenue feeds into the intersection of Goshen Avenue and Sherman Boulevard on the city’s northwest side.

A giant mechanical claw had smashed into the side wall where a mural was. Owner Mike Reuille vacated in December.

According to ARCH, the brick Tudor-Revival style building was once the Earl Knight Filling Station and dates to about 1926.
