Sam Hyde

Sam Hyde’s longtime friend Julia Meek took this picture of him after his Hyde Brothers Booksellers won a publication’s community business award. He usually had a pencil in his mouth — “the tool of the bookseller’s trade” — if his hands were full, she said. He also often wore a Hyde Brothers Booksellers T-shirt with the logo she designed for the business.
