Indiana State Sen. State Sen. Dennis Kruse, R-Auburn, front at podium, honors USS Indianapolis naval ship and its members. The USS Indianapolis was commissioned for service on Oct. 26 at a ceremony in northern Indiana.

Over the next year, crews will continue to certify critical systems and train for their first deployment.

Kruse recognized the crew members and officers for their service in the U.S. Navy and protecting democracy at home and abroad.
