The Northeast Indiana Local Food Network will be hosting the 2019 Northeast Indiana Local Food Forum and Social Hour on March 18 at the Walb Union on the Purdue University Fort Wayne campus, according to its website.
The event will allow participants to connect with local farmers, food producers, chefs, community leaders, dietitians, healthy food and sustainable agriculture advocates, and consumers from the region to learn, share ideas and grow the local food community.
It will include a social hour, and vendors who will offer local food, beer, wine, kombucha and juices. At 5 p.m. an after-party will begin with live music and free food samples.

New restaurant hiring in Fort Wayne
Core Life Eatery is currently hiring for its yet-to-open location at 407 W. Coliseum Blvd., Fort Wayne, according to the company’s website and Facebook page.
The restaurant chain features bowls, made-from-scratch beverages and salad. It was recently named No. 1 on the 10 Fastest-Growing Emerging Chains in 2018, presented by Restaurant Business, and No. 9 on the 2018 Fast Casual list of Top 100 Fast Casual Movers & Shakers, according to its website.
Pay for employees is up to $12 per hour, according to its website.
Fort Wayne Comedy Club announces upcoming shows
The Fort Wayne Comedy Club, 2104 S. Calhoun St., Fort Wayne, recently announced several shows for January and February.
The Jan. 12 show will feature Jamie Fritz with headliner Larry Reeb. Katrina Brown will headline with Kool Kat Jan 19. The Jan. 26 show will feature Ernest Hicks with headliner Mike Merryfield.
Two shows have also been announced for February. On Feb. 2 Charlie Wiener will headline with Von Michael, and on Feb. 9 the headliner will be Warren B. Hall with Christine Little and Stetson Banks.
Tickets for 7:15 p.m. shows are $15 in advance or $20 the day of the show. Tickets for the 9:45 p.m. show are $20 in advance, $25 the day of the show. Tickets can be purchased at www.fortwaynecomedyclub.com.
Brewery celebrates eclipse with astronomy, can release
Hop River Brewing Co., 1515 N. Harrison St., Fort Wayne, will celebrate the lunar eclipse Jan. 21 with the release of its new canned beer, Midnight Retreat Imperial Stout, according to its Facebook page.
The brewery will also have the Fort Wayne Astronomical Society on hand to help customers observe and learn more about the eclipse. The group will have stargazing binoculars so the eclipse can be viewed up close, and the brewery will broadcast a livestream of the eclipse.
