Lancia creates Canal Square Townhomes in New Haven

An architect’s rendering shows the Canal Square Townhomes to be constructed by Lancia Homes on a 4-acre property at the southeast corner of Green and Moeller roads in New Haven. Groundbreaking will be in May, and Lancia hopes to have the homes ready for residents to move in early in 2022.

Groundbreaking for 39 two-story duplex townhouses on 4 acres at the southeast corner of Green and Moeller roads in New Haven is set to begin in May. According to Jamie Lancia, president of Lancia Homes, the project will be known as Canal Square Townhomes. He said his goal is to have them ready for residents to begin moving in early next year.

Lancia emphasized that “these townhomes are not a low-income or government housing project” and they are not rentals. They will go on sale shortly. With the exception of one single-residence townhome, two townhomes will be in each building with a common wall separating the units. Lancia said homes probably will be priced at $189,000 to $225,000.

“They offer low maintenance with many enhanced amenities like stainless- steel appliances,” he said. “They’re all designed with an open floor plan on the first floor featuring a large area that includes a great room, kitchen and nook.”

Twenty-six of the homes will be 1,800 square feet in size and include two-and-a-half baths, three bedrooms upstairs and a two-car garage.

The 1,400-square-foot units will have one-and-half bathrooms, two bedrooms upstairs and a one-car garage.

The project is located just west of Victoria Estates and across the street from Country Estates at the southeast corner of Green and Moeller.
