I had a friend pick up a pair of very unique eye frames during a trip to Italy that everyone just adored. Italian-brand frames are available at the recently opened Eye Specs On Main at The Bradley hotel.

I stopped in a week after Eye Specs opened Oct. 4 to take a look around at the store, 222 W. Main St., Fort Wayne.

Dr. Zubair Khan said a lot of customers were bringing in their prescriptions to put into the store’s frames. The store carries American brands as well as Tom Ford and Prada frames of Italy, Lafont of France and Maui Jim of Japan and Italy, along with others.

Khan co-owns the store with his wife, Hajira, and both are Business Weekly Forty Under 40 recipients. Dr. Khan has been providing eye care locally since 2004 and provides eye exams for glasses and contact lenses and other services.

All new patients will receive 30% off a complete pair of glasses throughout the month of October.

The store is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Patients can schedule an appointment by calling 260-399-5738 or sending email to info@eyespecsonmain.com.

Correction

I must have had sugar clogging my brain. Last week, I mentioned the new chocolate shop in the retail space of The Bradley. I flubbed on the first name. It’s Kilwins Chocolates, Fudge and Ice Cream.
