ALDI planned to welcome back shoppers to its renovated Fort Wayne store when it reopened at 9 a.m. May 6. The store, at 7325 S. Anthony Blvd., is part of an ongoing initiative to remodel and expand existing ALDI stores nationwide. The Fort Wayne store will be open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.

According a company news release:

• The updated store provides an improved layout and ample refrigeration to accommodate an expanded fresh and convenient food selection.

• It also features open ceilings, natural lighting and is built with environmentally friendly materials.

“ALDI continues to prioritize remodeling stores with one goal in mind: to provide the best grocery shopping experience,” Laura Bauer, Greenwood division vice president for ALDI, said in the news release. “We are excited for Fort Wayne residents to see the updated location, specifically designed to make shopping even easier, but ALDI fans can rest assured that the high-quality products and unbeatable value ALDI provides will remain unchanged.”

Bauer wouldn’t say how much the company spent on the Fort Wayne’s store remodeling, citing company policy on its investment strategy.

A typical ALDI store is nearly 12,000 square feet of retail space. In addition to providing a clean and safe shopping environment, its food and household essentials include healthy, convenient options and a robust selection of produce delivered fresh daily to stores.

The private-label pioneer “consistently maintains low prices by working with the best partners to curate a selection of more than 90% exclusive brands, and ALDI guarantees its products are as good as or better than national brands.”

ALDI also continues to increase its e-commerce presence. ALDI grocery delivery reaches nearly 200 million Americans across more than 10,000 ZIP codes. Last year after the COVID-19 pandemic began, ALDI mobilized to meet the growing demand for grocery pickup at nearly 700 stores across the country. ALDI also remains focused on expanding curbside pickup to even more stores. Visit to place an order.

ALDI also has stores in Fort Wayne at 4750 Coldwater Road, which reopened in 2017 after a major renovation; 4466 Illinois Road across from Jefferson Pointe, its newest location, which had its opening delayed last spring by the COVID-19 pandemic; and 10007 Lima Road near Dupont Road.
