A veteran of economic development and planning with several entities in Fort Wayne has returned to head Ball State University's new office of public and community engagement here.

Beth Neu started Monday as director of Ball State's new effort to offer advice and assistance to northeast Indiana's businesses, nonprofits, communities and economic-development agencies. She will spend about a week on the BSU campus in Muncie and another week traveling the state before settling into work in Fort Wayne, said John Fallon, associate vice president for economic development and community engagement.
