Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne has joined forces with local cultural and recreational organizations to create a new downtown festival.

Called Kickstart, the May 17 event will celebrate bikes, art and music in downtown Fort Wayne, IPFW said in an announcement. It also will serve as the rollout of the university’s “Sculpture with a Purpose” series of bike racks commissioned in honor of its 50th anniversary.
